Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a dynamic emergency department setting within a regional healthcare facility in the Midwest. This role emphasizes best practices, relationship-based care, and adherence to professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics and relevant nursing regulations.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term patient care needs.
- Apply clinical expertise to assign patient care based on acuity and technical requirements, continuously enhancing skills through evidence-based practice.
- Deliver exceptional patient and visitor experiences by demonstrating respect, integrity, empathy, and collaboration.
- Maintain a therapeutic and safe environment by adhering to safety protocols, privacy standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Engage in professional development opportunities including certifications, advanced degrees, and leadership roles.
- Foster teamwork by motivating colleagues, providing mentorship, and encouraging cooperative relationships across departments.
Education and Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program or equivalent acute care experience of at least five years if from a non-accredited program.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is acceptable.
- Completion and maintenance of area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, and PALS.
This position offers a 3rd shift schedule with 36 hours weekly in a supportive and growth-oriented environment serving the broader Midwest region.
