Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care within a supportive environment that champions best practices and exceptional customer service. This role emphasizes relationship-based care and upholds the highest professional nursing standards. Nursing care is guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, regional Nurse Practice Acts, the Nursing Process, and applicable regulatory standards. Acute care settings include Medical, Surgical, Emergency, Intensive Care, Childbirth, Pediatric, Operating Room, Perianesthesia, Endoscopy/GI, and Cardiac Cath Lab units.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term objectives.
• Engage in ongoing education to stay current with product and practice changes, applying knowledge to promote cost-effective care.
• Demonstrate expertise by making appropriate patient care assignments based on acuity and technical needs.

• Communicate clearly to manage expectations and ensure positive patient experiences through rounding, timely responses, and professional conduct.
• Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise, supporting healthcare students, and adhering to privacy and safety standards.
• Prioritize patient and workplace safety by reporting incidents, adhering to Just Culture principles, HIPAA, and national safety guidelines.
• Commit to personal and professional growth through leadership opportunities, certifications, advanced education, and participation in shared governance.

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is acceptable.
• Completion and maintenance of area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty credentials.

Licensure and Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license as required by the regional nursing board.

Work Shift: Evening shift, 6:00pm 6:30am, part-time (24 hours weekly).

This position is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
