Job Summary:

Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a setting that exemplifies best practices and outstanding customer service. This role fosters relationship-based care and upholds professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, Nursing Process, and regulatory agency requirements. The position supports acute care departments including Medical, Surgery, Emergency, Intensive Care, Childbirth, Pediatric, Operating Room, Perianesthesia, Endoscopy/GI, and Cardiac Cath Lab units.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term goals.
• Apply new knowledge from ongoing education to promote cost-saving and enhance patient care.
• Make patient care assignments based on nurse expertise, patient acuity, and technical needs.
• Demonstrate evidence-based practice to improve workplace and clinical skills.
• Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills with patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.
• Communicate clearly to manage expectations and provide timely responses to patient needs.
• Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and their programs.
• Prioritize safety for patients, guests, staff, and self by adhering to national safety standards, HIPAA, and Just Culture principles.
• Engage in professional growth through certifications, advanced degrees, and leadership opportunities.
• Foster teamwork by motivating and guiding colleagues, encouraging cooperation, and mentoring others.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with organizational policies and regulatory guidelines.

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school or, if not accredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is acceptable.
• Area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications required upon hire and maintained thereafter.

Licensure:

Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state board.

Work Shift:

Day shift from 6:00am to 6:30pm, 36 hours per week.
