Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a dynamic environment that champions best practices and exceptional customer service. This role emphasizes relationship-based care and upholds the highest professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, Nursing Process, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term goals.
- Apply clinical expertise to make appropriate patient care assignments based on acuity and technical needs.
- Continuously enhance skills through evidence-based practice and ongoing education.
- Deliver outstanding guest relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.
- Communicate proactively to manage expectations and ensure a positive patient experience through rounding, timely responses, and service recovery.
- Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and their programs.
- Prioritize safety for patients, guests, and staff by adhering to national safety standards, HIPAA, and Just Culture principles.
- Engage in professional growth opportunities including certification, advanced degrees, and leadership development.
- Foster teamwork by motivating and guiding colleagues, encouraging cooperation, and mentoring others.
Education and Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in accelerated MSN programs accepted.
- Completion and maintenance of area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications.
Licensure and Certifications:
- Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state board.
