Job Title: Production Worker Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and motivated general production workers for our 1st shift. The shift begins at 6:00 AM and concludes at 4:00 PM, operating from Monday to Thursday. As a production worker, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process, ensuring that all products meet quality standards and production goals.

Responsibilities

• Perform general production duties throughout the manufacturing process.

• Observe machine operation to detect malfunctions and ensure smooth production.

• Position, adjust, and secure workpieces using various tools and equipment.

• Align layout marks with die or blade for accurate cutting and shaping.

• Set machine stops or guides to specified lengths using scales, rules, or templates.

• Conduct material changes, tool changes, tool setup, and maintenance after training.

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.

• Inspect workpieces continuously for defects and measure for accuracy using precision tools.

• Ensure products meet established quality criteria with zero non-conformances.

• Follow the latest Quality Alerts, Job Instructions, and other instructional materials.

• Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale using files, grinders, or power tools.

• Accurately complete daily reporting paperwork.

• Maintain housekeeping of the work cell.

• Communicate effectively with operators, maintenance, team leaders, and supervisors.

• Adhere to company safety standards and policies.

Essential Skills

• 1 year of manufacturing experience in assembly, machine operation, or production.

• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, and fractions.

• Good tenure in previous positions.

• Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and rotate for 9 hours.

• Ability to implement feedback and take direction promptly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Own steel toe boots from day one.

• Prepared to be 'Work Ready' without appointments or distractions.

Work Environment

The job is located at the 1201 Building, where you will work with automated tube benders, welder machines, material handling robots, and conveyors. You will be involved in the manufacturing of metal exhaust systems for automotive manufacturers. The environment is fast-paced but clean and organized. Some areas may be louder, so be prepared for consistent noise. Compliance with PPE and safety requirements is mandatory, including wearing steel-toe shoes at all times. Safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection will be provided.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Troy, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
