Apprentice – Utility Technician (Ohio) The Apprentice – Utility Technician position provides an overview of the exciting opportunities in the water and wastewater industry. Successful completion of this 6‑month apprenticeship program will result in a full‑time position as a Utility Technician at one of our Aqua locations in Ohio. Responsibilities and Training Learn to operate and maintain water distribution and sewer collection system facilities, including water mains, valves, hydrants, service lines, sanitary sewer manholes, etc. Utilize company technology to ensure assigned work is captured within work order management applications. Perform daily work in compliance with OEPA and PUCO regulatory requirements for operations. Follow established company safety policies and procedures. Operate and perform maintenance on equipment used to maintain the water and/or wastewater system. Read and interpret maps, drawings, schematics, and GIS data. Locate and mark mains, services, and other facilities for construction work. Perform customer service, meter reading, and treatment plant operations work as assigned. Satisfactorily meet internal and external customer requirements through effective communication and initiative. Communicate via email and text as required. Perform all other duties as assigned. Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour. What You’ll Bring Must have a high school diploma or the GED equivalent. Must be proficient at using computer/tablet Windows‑based applications. Working Conditions & Physical Demands Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs. Must be able to walk long distances.
