Contract | Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 4x12-Hour Shifts | 13–20 Week Contracts Available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry rhythms, manage dysrhythmias, and respond to Rapid Response and Code Team activations
• Manage a diverse patient population including diagnoses such as diabetes, CHF, sepsis, COPD, renal failure, GI bleed, pneumonia, and various post-surgical recovery cases
• Perform and maintain IV access, central and PICC line care, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and medication management including heparin, insulin, and PCA
• Provide wound care, colostomy/ileostomy management, feeding tube care, and non-invasive airway management including BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula
• Float to other units as required and participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events or mass casualty situations

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg or MS/Telemetry experience
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and remote telemetry monitoring
• Proficiency with chest tube management, isolation precautions/PPE, and wound care/wound vac
• Must be able to work every other weekend and a minimum of 2 of 3 major holidays; must pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification and prior charge nurse experience
• Experience with post-angiogram care, post-cardiac surgery, post-MI, IV insulin protocols, tracheostomy care, continuous bladder irrigation, and arterial blood gas interpretation
• Familiarity with Pyxis medication dispensing systems and electronic documentation platforms
• Community hospital experience and background managing CVA, bariatric surgery, or substance withdrawal patients
