Recruiter will provide a specific address for qualified candidates. Compensation Package $43,000 – $48,000 per year plus overtime when warranted. A $750 bonus becomes part of the base salary upon completion and passing of AHRC NYC’s Defensive Driving class, if driving is required. The position also includes a comprehensive benefits package that includes free medical insurance. Weekly Schedule One weekend day each week is required, with two consecutive days off each week (either Friday/Saturday or Sunday/Monday). The remaining schedule consists of day and evening shifts; overnight shifts are not required.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with ensuring ongoing compliance and quality assurance with state and federal regulations applicable to the operation of the assigned facility. Provide direct supervision and guidance to direct support staff; collaborate with the Residence Manager on staff evaluations and disciplinary actions. Cover service hours per the Resident Manager’s schedule and accommodate changes due to staffing shortages or residents’ emerging needs. Take responsibility for smooth operations, including adherence to funder and agency policies on house and vehicle maintenance, fire safety, and residents’ and personnel files. Collaborate with the Residence Manager in planning each resident’s individualized program of services and care, covering both daily and longer‑term needs, and ensuring delivery by direct care staff that addresses each resident’s interests, preferences, strengths, and capabilities. When overseeing medical services, collaborate with clinical staff to monitor direct care activities related to medical services, maintain electronic and paper medical records, schedule and attend medical appointments, administer medications properly, and request referrals as needed. Ensure each resident’s basic needs are met, including adequate supply of food, clothing, personal hygiene items, and any other personal belongings necessary to meet individual needs. Serve as liaison with the Treatment Coordinator to review the quality of active treatment services and expected residential habilitation outcomes, attend team meetings, and evaluate activity schedules and documentation accuracy. Work with the Residence Manager to formulate and recommend new ideas and outcomes directed toward enhancing each resident’s quality of life. Attend and successfully complete mandated and skills‑development training courses, as assigned, and provide training to staff as needed.QUALIFICATIONS
Experience supervising staff in a residential setting is preferred but not required. Experience with individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities is required. Knowledge of developmental and intellectual disabilities and familiarity with OPWDD regulations. Willingness to work one day of each weekend. Ability to assist in planning, organizing, developing, and implementing program policies and procedures in a timely and consistent manner. Diplomatic communication skills with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public. High school diploma or GED plus three or more years of Direct Support Professional experience at an OPWDD‑certified residence. A valid New York or Tri‑State driver’s license held for more than one year in good standing.BENEFITS
