Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 36-hour work week with every other or every third weekend required. Float required as needed. Patient ratio of 1:3.5 across all shifts. 36 hours of orientation provided.

Highlights:

• Work in a high-acuity emergency department serving all age groups including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Gain experience in a Level I Trauma Center that is both stroke-certified and STEMI-certified
• Utilize EPIC documentation system with Pyxis medication management
• Daily census of 210 with 86 rooms and 115 beds in a fast-paced, comprehensive emergency care environment
• Interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• First-time travelers accepted with comprehensive orientation

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
• Active Ohio RN license or valid compact license required at time of submission
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications required
• Experience in Level I Trauma Center, stroke-certified, and STEMI-certified facility preferred
• Proficiency in triage, dysrhythmia interpretation, emergency medications, procedural sedation, ventilated patients, trauma care, psych holds, and pediatric emergency care
• Skills required include arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, IV vasopressors, starting and maintaining IVs, phlebotomy, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two professional references required: at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership position
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
