About Our Client

The client are a well-known streatwear brand that were established in 2010, by a world famous fashion designer. The client are growing the finance team in New York and are looking for an Accounting Manager to help with the day to day operations of the accounting team. The successful candidate will have direct reports in the role and will have a wealth of growth opportunities.

Job Description

The successful Accounting Manager will:

Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Closing

• 
  Management of the general ledger, journal entries, and balance reconciliation
  
  



• 
  Recording and processing of revenue, cost of sales, SG&A expenses, etc.
  
  



• 
  Recording and management of provisions, deferred assets, and liabilities
  
  



• 
  Preparation and submission of consolidated accounting packages
  
  



• 
  Preparation of financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement)
  
  



• 
  Closing reviews, variance analysis, and reporting to management
  
  

Tax Responsibilities

• 
  Preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns
  
  



• 
  Response to tax audits
  
  



• 
  Planning and execution of tax strategies
  
  



• 
  Compliance with transfer pricing regulations
  
  

Audit Coordination

• 
  Coordination and communication with external auditors
  
  



• 
  Preparation and submission of audit documentation
  
  



• 
  Addressing and improving audit findings
  
  

General Affairs

• 
  Payroll processing and social insurance procedures
  
  



• 
  Various labor and HR-related administrative tasks

The Successful Applicant

The successful Accounting Manager will:

• 
  Bachelor's degree (Accounting, Finance, or related field)
  
  



• 
  CPA certification preferred
  
  



• 
  Minimum 5 years of accounting experience (
  
  
  MUST
  
  
  be from the apparel industry)
  



• 
  Minimum 3 years of management experience
  
  



• 
  Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  
  



• 
  Knowledge of federal and state tax laws
  
  



• 
  Knowledge and experience with internal controls
  
  



• 
  Experience using ERP systems (SAP, Oracle NetSuite, etc.)
  
  



• 
  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  
  



• 
  Excellent communication skills (English required; Japanese is a plus)
  
  



• 
  Leadership and teamwork skills
