About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: State nursing license required Certifications: BCLS Must-Have: Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical nursing. Experience with telemetry and remote monitoring. Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage IV insulin protocols. Experience in colostomy care and feeding tube management. Proficiency in pre/post hemodialysis management and blood product administration. Skill in central line blood draws and peripheral line care/management. Phlebotomy skills and PICC line management experience. Experience in starting IVs and managing chest tubes. Knowledge of non-invasive airway management techniques. Familiarity with isolation precautions and wound care practices. Description: RTO after booking is not allowed. Changes to availability cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional requests for time off on the unit could possibly result in cancellation. The target patient ratio is 1:5-6. This is a night shift position with 36 or 48 hours accepted. Travelers may be required to support storm or hurricane teams. Staff may need to report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualty situations, or disasters. Float assignments within the facility may be required. Weekend shifts may be expected every other weekend. Typical patient diagnoses include dementia, diabetes, COVID-19, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, and GI bleeds. The unit provides care for a variety of medical and surgical diagnoses. Laboratory and pharmaceutical support services are available on-site. All candidates must be prepared for EKG testing prior to start. Compliance with the facility's safety and health protocols is mandatory.
