About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their growing accounting and finance team. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close activities, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit preparation across multiple entities. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a structured, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Support daily accounting activities related to the general ledger, cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed assets.
  
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, roll-forwards, and supporting schedules.
  
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  
• Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  
• Maintain accurate and organized workpapers with supporting documentation.
  
• Review income and expense activity for proper classification and accuracy.
  
• Assist with accounts payable processes, including invoice coding, approvals, and payment support.
  
• Support accounts receivable activities, billing, cash application, and related reconciliations.
  
• Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, additions, and disposals.
  
• Perform account analysis and investigate unusual variances or trends.
  
• Assist with financial reporting, account analyses, and reporting schedules.
  
• Support internal and external audit requests and prepare audit documentation.
  
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting procedures.
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve accounting issues and gather required information.
  
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and documentation of accounting procedures.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
  
• 2 to 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public company environment.
  
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
  
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP principles.
  
• Experience with one or more accounting functions including AP, AR, cash management, fixed assets, or general ledger accounting.
  
• Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis.
  
• Experience supporting audits and working within internal control environments preferred.
  
• ERP system experience required; experience with NetSuite or similar platforms is a plus.
  
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills.
  
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines.
  
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to SOX compliance and public company accounting environments.
  
• Experience with multi-entity accounting.
  
• Experience with process improvements and accounting workflow enhancements.
