Step into a meaningful and rewarding opportunity supporting 5th-grade students as a contracted Special Education Teacher for the fall semester. You’ll play a vital role in fostering student growth, collaborating closely with general education colleagues, and delivering targeted instruction for learners with reading, math, and executive functioning needs.
This assignment focuses on approximately 12 students, with services provided in small group settings to ensure personalized support. The majority of your day will be spent working within a team-driven environment, sharing ideas, and building strategies alongside an experienced regular education team. This contract runs from August 31 through the December break, promising an enriching semester of making a difference.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active certification in Special Education required
- Experience supporting students with learning and executive functioning challenges
- Familiarity with elementary reading and mathematics interventions
- Strength in differentiated instruction and adaptive teaching methods
- Ability to collaborate effectively with grade-level teams and families
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to 5th-grade students in small groups
- Address IEP goals related to reading, math, and executive functioning
- Collaborate daily with the general education team to ensure a unified learning approach
- Track student progress and maintain up-to-date records
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging learning atmosphere
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student growth
