Job Brief
Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring a Machining for our client. This position is responsible for making machine adjustments, reading blueprints, using precision measuring instruments, and ensuring parts meet quality specifications in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What’s a Typical Day Like?
- Set up and operate CNC machines to manufacture precision components according to engineering specifications.
- Adjust machine offsets, tooling, and X, Y, and Z axis settings to maintain dimensional accuracy.
- Replace or adjust cutting tools, dies, and inserts as required.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment.
- Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools to verify part dimensions and tolerances.
- Make program and machine adjustments to improve quality and production efficiency.
- Monitor machine performance and identify tooling or equipment issues.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and report equipment concerns.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What Are the Requirements of the Job?
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience operating and setting up CNC machining equipment required.
- Experience adjusting or replacing tooling, dies, and cutting inserts.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Strong mathematical and measurement skills.
- Proficiency using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Experience making CNC program offsets and machine adjustments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, squat, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required for machine setup and inspection activities.
- Ability to safely operate CNC equipment and associated machinery.
- Manufacturing and machining facility.
- Frequent exposure to moving machinery, metal chips, coolants, lubricants, and moderate to loud noise.
- Required use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear.
