R&D Co-Op

Johnson & Johnson's Ethicon division seeks a co-op/intern for new product development in wound closure and healing. The position involves hands-on laboratory work, prototype testing, and collaboration with engineers on medical device innovation focused on antibacterial technologies and cardiovascular surgery applications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hands-on laboratory work and testing in engineering environments
• Build and evaluate novel medical device prototypes using machining processes
• Participate in Voice-of-Customer labs and design project studies with surgeons
• Generate 3D models and coordinate 3D printing for test fixtures and methods
• Document protocols, generate reports, and maintain detailed project records

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in Bachelor's or Master's degree program at accredited university
• Minimum 2.8 GPA; 3.0 or higher strongly preferred
• Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing in active school year
• Preferred disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering
• U.S. work authorization; no visa sponsorship required now or in future
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint)
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
