Job Description:

Bon Secours - Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center is seeking a Locum Cardiothoracic Surgeon for upcoming coverage dates. This role involves hospital-based rounding with 24-hour call shifts. Coverage is needed on the following future dates:

• July 9 (7am) to July 16 (7am)
• July 29 (7am) to August 5 (7am)
• August 20 (7am) to August 27 (7am)
• September 11 (7am) to September 16 (7am)
• September 28 (7am) to October 2 (7am)
• October 26 (7am) to November 4 (7am)
• December 16 (7am) to December 23 (7am)

Estimated credentialing timeframe is approximately 30 days, with consideration for emergency privileging.


The practice setting involves hospital-based rounding with a surgical volume averaging one case per day in a Level 2 Trauma designation hospital. The facility has 20 operating rooms. Ancillary support includes three Physician Assistants. Patients are primarily adults.


Required procedures include:

• Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (CABG)
• Arterial Revascularization (internal mammary arteries, radial, gastroepiploic arteries)
• Redo Coronary Revascularization (with or without heart valve surgery)
• Pericardial Window
• Heart Valve Repair/Replacement
• Mitral Valve Repair

Travel reimbursement details include lodging approximately $150 per night and approval for standard/economy travel bookings.
