Key Responsibilities and Opportunities:

• Provide specialized cardiothoracic surgical care, including CABG, arterial revascularization, redo coronary revascularization, pericardial window, and heart valve repair or replacement.
• Cover 24-hour call shifts, with an anticipated need for 10-14 days per month.
• Manage adult patient cases within a hospital-based rounding practice, utilizing the EPIC electronic documentation system.
• Collaborate with a dedicated support team, including three physician assistants, and operate within a facility equipped with 20 operating rooms and Trauma Level 2 designation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Board-certified or eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
• Valid medical license to practice in Ohio.
• Proven experience in coronary artery bypass grafting, heart valve surgeries, and revascularization procedures.
• Exceptional clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work independently in a hospital setting.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with emergency privileging processes.
• Prior work in high-volume surgical centers.
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR system.
• Ability to adapt to varying schedules and cover multiple shifts.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Completion of a residency and fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
• Minimum of 2+ years of post-training clinical experience.
• Prior locum or hospital-based surgical practice preferred.

Additional Requirements:

• Availability for scheduled open coverage dates starting July 9, 2026.
• Willingness to travel with accommodation reimbursements (~$150/night).
• Possession of current medical licenses, certifications, and any required trauma or trauma-specific certifications.
• Emergency privileges may be considered; timely credentialing expected within 30 days.
