A Helping Hand Home Care Services provides non-medical in-home care for seniors and disabled adults in the Hanover, Pennsylvania area, serving Adams and York Counties. We are dedicated to taking care of our caregivers. Responsibilities Part Time to Full Time hours Provide personal assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries, or accidents by attending to basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating Remind clients to take prescribed medication, assist clients with ambulation, and help with physical therapy exercises Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.) Assist with planning and preparing meals Complete client’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do so Provide local transportation to appointments/errands Perform housekeeping duties Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency Report any changes in client’s condition/behavior and report incidents/injuries Benefits Weekly pay Competitive pay Flexible schedules to work around your individual needs Paid hands-on training prior to starting first assignment Online continued education for caregivers SIMPLE IRA with employer match and supplemental insurance benefits Discounted YMCA memberships and a discount on Verizon wireless accounts Employee incentive programs and referral bonuses PPE (gloves and masks) for caregivers upon request Qualifications Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle with current auto insurance Ability to pass Pennsylvania background check and FBI background check, if needed Ability to pass online competency exam or provide current CNA certification High School Diploma or equivalent/Experience as a Caregiver Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends Ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (preferred but not required, 1 year of experience) Take pride in providing high quality care Every other weekend is required to work Willingness to enforce health and safety standards COVID-19 considerations The safety of caregivers and clients is important. Gloves and masks can be provided upon request. Caregivers are required to assess themselves and their consumers daily. All caregivers respond to symptom/exposure questions prior to each shift, may take their own temperature, practice good hand washing, and utilize PPE such as masks and gloves.
