Laboratory Billing Associate, Full Time, Day Shift

Job Summary:

Ensures the lab captures charges for client billing, pathology technical fees, Associated Regional & University Pathologists (ARUP) charges and miscellaneous charges. Investigates encounters with missing information to ensure timely filing and eliminating the need for charges to be written off. Require access to RCI and registration to fix encounters and drop charges.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred

Essential Functions:

• Investigates encounters with missing information to ensure timely filing and revenue capture.
• Fixes encounters and resubmits charges to payor.
• Creates invoices and bills clients.
• Educates staff with recurring registration mistakes, resolves DOS issues and posts manual charges.
• Monitors work queues in Cerner for charge reviews.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
