Exciting Opportunity for ICU Registered Nurse (RN) - 12-Hour Day Shifts!


- Unit Notes:
- Radius Rule: 50 miles; not available for full-time, part-time, or PRN roles with any facility associated with the organization.
- Weekend Requirements: Work every weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
- Driver's License: Required at submission; will be used to determine eligibility based on distance.

- Important Policies:
- Fingernail Policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments; refusal to comply may result in contract termination.
- RN Skill Exam: Pass/fail exam during orientation; open book; 90% required to pass or termination may occur.
- Scheduling: Block scheduling is generally not approved unless it's only on weekends.

- Department Overview:
- Department: ICU RN
- Bed Capacity: 33 beds with an average daily census of 16.
- Nurse-Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 for adults depending on staffing.
- Common Diagnoses: Trauma, cardiac cases, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, strokes, renal failure, and more.
- Drip Management: RNs required to titrate drips (e.g., cardiac drips, insulin, sedation).

- Support and Staffing:
- Nurse Aides: Available based on census; assist on the floor as needed.
- Healthcare Support Tech: Available 3 days per week.
- Respiratory Equipment: Familiarity with vents, CPAP, BiPap, etc.

- Shifts & Scheduling:
- Shift Timing: 0630-1830, 1830-0630.
- Self-Scheduling: Available for core staff; travelers are added in.
- Floating: Typically to PCU or occasionally MedSurg, maintaining standard patient ratios.
- Orientation: 1 shift of unit-specific orientation required.

- Leave Requests:
- RTO: 7 or fewer days up front for 13-week contracts; no additional RTO will be approved post-submission.

- Cancellation Policy:
- Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts for 13-week assignments; 3 shifts for shorter assignments.

- Charting System: EPIC
- BSN Required: No
