This role allows for remote work while serving an outpatient population. As a licensed mental health counselor, you will have the flexibility to connect with clients virtually, making it easier to accommodate their schedules and needs. Our outpatient office is equipped with state-of-the-art electronic health record systems, ensuring that your administrative responsibilities, including client notes and treatment plans, are efficient and secure. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conducting thorough initial assessments through preliminary interviews, leading to comprehensive case documentation from consultation to discharge.

• Evaluating clients’ mental health status, including emotional and behavioral challenges, and discussing findings with the treatment team.

• Creating targeted intervention and recovery plans tailored to the unique needs of individuals, couples, and families, incorporating evidence-based practices.

• Facilitating engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing a wide range of therapeutic modalities to encourage client participation and progress.
\n
• Monitoring and documenting progress throughout the treatment plan, making adjustments as necessary in collaboration with the team.
\n
• Collaborating closely with psychiatrists, social workers, and healthcare providers to ensure a holistic approach to client care.

• Providing ongoing support and follow-ups for clients admitted to the hospital, ensuring continuity of care after discharge.

• Identifying and mitigating barriers to recovery by implementing preventive strategies tailored to each client.

• Engaging with family members and primary caregivers to effectively address mental health challenges and foster a supportive home environment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work with a diverse clientele that includes individuals facing a range of mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance abuse issues. This role focuses on providing culturally competent care to ensure clients from various backgrounds feel understood and supported. Your expertise will be invaluable as you adapt therapeutic techniques to meet multiple client needs effectively.

Qualifications\n

• A valid and current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LCPC, LCSW) in the state of Illinois.

• A completed Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited academic institution.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse caseload with well-developed assessment and counseling skills.
\n
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, to manage client data effectively.
\n
• Knowledge of common mental health conditions and their treatment methodologies, particularly addiction and co-occurring disorders.
\n
• Strong understanding of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and their application in clinical settings.
\n
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, enabling you to effectively convey information to clients and collaborate within the team.

• A compassionate and empathetic demeanor, fostering positive therapeutic relationships with clients.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working in an outpatient clinic or similar setting, with a demonstrated ability to develop individualized treatment plans.

Compensation and Benefits\n

Avella Behavioral Health Center offers a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 – 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
