Irvine, CADescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY:This position is responsible for managing and administering human resource policies, procedures, and programs, paired with supporting portfolio leadership and employees for the assigned portfolio. The Human Resources Manager will provide subject matter expertise, partnership, and implementation support in areas of HR that include managing the following on a day-to-day basis: human resource administration, compliance, employment changes/onboarding/offboarding, performance management, compensation, benefits administration, LOAs, employee relations, payroll, and managing the HRIS system. This position reports directly to the COO. The Human Resources Manager will be accountable for understanding the business model and strategic goals of the portfolio they support to align Human Resource programs. The Human Resources Manager will collaborate with adjacent Human Resource Managers within the organization to streamline global Human Resources operations, where possible. Depending on the growth of the portfolio, this position may have HR team management responsibilities.AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:· HR Compliance, Policy, & Procedure (30%)· HR Administration & Implementation (25%)· HR Team Management (15%)· Performance Management/Coaching/Training Line Management & Staff (25%)· Management Reporting (5%)ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:HR Compliance, Policy, & Procedure (30%)· Analyze, develop, and implement Human Resources policies and SOP procedures that support portfolio employee engagement, productivity, and company objectives.· Demonstrate a thorough understanding of human resources principles and practices, including federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.· Partner with leadership team to address any compliance concerns that cause potential risk to portfolio.· Ensure all required record retention and compliance reporting are accurate and timely.· Oversee necessary compliance audits to ensure compliance.HR Administration & Implementation (25%)· Manage and provide oversight to key HR daily functions within the portfolio, including recruiting/onboarding/offboarding, employee/labor relations, health/safety/risk, compensation, benefits, performance management, LOA’s, training, payroll, employee records, and compliance.· Create and lead Human Resources tactical portfolio solutions for day-to-day HR issues.· Manage the day-to-day HR programs that align with the metrics and drive results.· Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with portfolio vendors to provide supplemental HR processes and services.· Provide oversight to data integrity of the HRIS and other HR technology systems.· Develop and deliver internal staff communications.· Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met.HR Team Management (15%)· Manage and instruct the HR team (if applicable) in the day-to-day performance of their roles and responsibilities.· Identify areas of development and potential skill gaps within the HR administrative team.· Manage the performance of any HR direct report.· Collaborate with HR team to ensure proper coverage of critical HR functions.Performance Management/Coaching/Training Line Management & Staff (25%)· Possess the ability to engage, inspire, and influence people at all levels of the organization.· Partner with the leadership team to support performance management programs. · Coach management teams to support talent management initiatives.· Identify and train management teams on trending HR compliance concerns and management skill gaps.· Partner with management and appropriate resources to navigate complex employee relations issues.Management Reporting (5%)· Manage the HR technology platforms and provide management reports to leadership teams, where appropriate.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:· Perform other projects as assigned.· Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this position.· Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.WORKING HOURSStandard hours Monday-Friday, eight hours per day. In the event of an absence where the employee cannot perform these duties, the designated manager shall perform these duties.RequirementsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:· A minimum of 5-7 years of HR generalist experience; 3 years of management experience preferred.· A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is preferred.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:· 5 years of demonstrated knowledge and experience with interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution. · Proficient with excellent verbal and written communication skills.· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.· Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.· Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.· Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations in a remote work environment.· Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or related software.· Working knowledge of HRIS and talent management systems.WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:This position will be in an office setting at a desk equipped with computer, monitors, phone, and other applicable resources/equipment. It will require the applicant to routinely sit, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend for up to 8 hours.
