Essential functions include:
- Administering various human resources plans and procedures for all company employees; assisting in development and implementation of policies and procedures; preparing and maintaining employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
- Providing HR policy guidance and interpretation.
- Planning, organizing, and controlling all activities of the department. Participating in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
- Administering compensation program; monitoring performance evaluation program and revising as necessary.
- Providing day to day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions). Performing benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and communicating benefit information to employees.
- Implementing compensation program; rewriting job descriptions as necessary; conducting annual salary surveys and developing merit pool (salary budget); analyzing compensation; monitoring performance evaluation program and revising as necessary.
- Maintaining in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partnering with legal department as needed/required.
- Conducting recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt employees, students, and temporary employees as needed; conducting new-employee orientations.
- Handling employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing.
- Assisting in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommending new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
- Maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.

- Providing training for new and current employees on department systems and procedures.
- Supervising receptionist, delegating projects as appropriate, and assuring coverage of front desk in receptionist's absence.
- Overseeing special events for staff by coordinating committees and schedules, and staying within budget.
- Performing other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
