Food Service Assistant Cook

The Assistant Cook supports the daily food production operations of the school cafeteria. This position assists with the preparation and cooking of meals, follows standardized recipes, maintains food safety standards, and helps ensure efficient and high-quality meal service for students and staff. Assist with the preparation and cooking of menu items according to standardized recipes and production sheets Support the Head Cook in daily food production and kitchen operations Portion, prepare, and stage food for service Maintain proper food temperatures and follow all food safety and sanitation procedures, including HACCP requirements Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous food service or cooking experience required Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices Ability to follow recipes and written instructions accurately Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds ServSafe or equivalent certification preferred (or ability to obtain) Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English Hours: 6:30 a.m. - 1:45 p.m., Monday through Friday (during the school year) Salary: $21.75 per hour Benefits: Single coverage insurance, sick leave and paid holidays, among other benefits Reavis High School District 220 is an Equal Opportunity Employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr District 220
