Lab Technician-Blood Processing

Location: Orlando, United States. Sector: Pharmaceuticals. Salary: $15.40 to $22.00 per hour. Laboratory Operations Laboratory Operations will include the following deliverables: Laboratory Manage daily and weekly lab cleanings in at least 8 labs Perform equipment maintenance, per defined schedules on approximately 150 pieces of equipment Manage media/reagent preparation, including all required follow up documentation (frequency will vary - ranging from daily to monthly - with VaxDesign Campus project workload) Manage inventory/stocking reagents (frequency will vary - ranging from daily to monthly - with VaxDesign Campus project workload) Perform HSE activities, such as monthly checks on 3 safety showers, weekly checks on 8 eyewash stations, and monthly checks on 18 fire extinguishers Basic core cell culture Perform PTE core functions on a weekly basis, including casting collagen plates, harvesting T flasks, and seeding cells onto collagen plates Perform counting cells Perform thawing and preparing cells for experiments, such as using magnetic bead separation techniques to generate dendritic cells, on an as needed basis Perform standardized immunoassays (ELISA-type assays) Using standard analytical techniques, such as Bioplex, perform set up and testing, up to 4x per week Blood Processing Activities Prepare for and process blood units (apheresis products, whole blood, and/or cord blood units) on a daily basis (blood processing times and units can vary, but typically average 10-15 units per week) Cleaning and maintaining Blood laboratory, on a daily basis Stock reagents and aliquot materials for the Blood laboratory (frequency will vary – ranging from daily to monthly – with VaxDesign Campus project workload) Perform blood quality control assay and testing on a weekly basis, averaging 10-15 donors per week Estimated Min Rate: $15.40 Estimated Max Rate: $22.00 Benefits Medical, Prescription, Dental & Vision Benefits (for employees working 20+ hours per week) Health Savings Account (HSA) (for employees working 20+ hours per week) Life & Disability Insurance (for employees working 20+ hours per week) MetLife Voluntary Benefits Employee Assistance Program (EAP) 401K Retirement Savings Plan Direct Deposit & weekly epayroll Referral Bonus Programs Certification and training opportunities Yoh, a Day & Zimmermann company, is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
