Correspondence Support SpecialistReporting to the Collections Supervisor, Correspondence Support is responsible for the daily processing of incoming correspondence and distribution to the appropriate departments for completion. This role is a supporting role for the Collections department.Responsibilities include:Acting as a resource for all critical aspects of the CBO which includes liaising between departments as well as assisting Level 1 and Level 2 Collectors.Managing incoming medical record requests from payers; includes preparing requested records and timely submission via payer portal, fax, or mail.Accessing multiple payer portals to verify patient eligibility and submit medical records.Contacting patients and effectively communicating what additional information is needed for their insurance carriers to process claims.Reviewing explanation of benefits to identify appropriate handling.Communicating payer trends to management regularly.Scanning all documentation and filing in appropriate drives.Meeting established deadlines.Meeting all quality and productivity metrics.Required Skills:Must demonstrate a positive demeanor, good verbal, and written communication skills, and be professional in both appearance and approach. Must be a team player – Always willing to help in whatever way possible and go the extra mile to get the job done.Must be able to handle potentially stressful situations and multi-task and handle competing priorities while meeting or exceeding deadlines.Must have the skills necessary to operate the office equipment required to fulfill job duties.Ability to work independently with little supervision.Ability to be resourceful but know when to engage others for support, escalate for help or ask clarifying questions.Basic understanding of Hospital Revenue Cycle Services, preferredAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.Experience in Cerner, nThrive, Advantx, Waystar, Meditech, CPSI are recommended.
