Step into an impactful contract position supporting students near Trussville, AL, starting as soon as possible and extending through June 10. This school-based occupational therapy role is designed for professionals passionate about empowering children and collaborating with education teams.

Two openings are available, each based across four school locations. Each caseload includes approximately 50-60 students, offering a variety of service delivery models. You’ll provide a mix of individual, small group, and push-in occupational therapy, tailored to students’ Individualized Education Program (IEP) requirements. Sessions typically last 30 minutes and may occur weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, depending on student needs.

Key qualifications and desired experience:

• Active and current Alabama OT license/certification (must provide proof upon request)
• Previous experience working in school settings or with pediatric populations preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with teachers, administrators, and families
• Ability to adapt therapy techniques and interventions based on IEP goals
• Organized, flexible, and committed to meeting students’ needs on-site

Role responsibilities:

• Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students as outlined in IEPs
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring
• Collaborate actively with colleagues and families during school hours (7:45 am – 3:45 pm)
• Travel between four assigned school locations during the week
• Adapt service models to best fit individual or group student needs
