Regional Sales Manager-Central & Northern California

Job Summary Regional Sales Manager – Central & Northern California. Reporting to the District Sales Manager, the Regional Sales Manager is responsible for selling Renishaw metrology products across the territory, primarily covering Central and Northern California. The role requires significant travel. Responsibilities Sell core Renishaw metrology products: Calibration, Machine Tool, CMM, and Stylus. Support sales for Precision Measurement technologies through OEM, distribution, and end‑user channels. Manage OEM, distributor, end‑user, and EDU accounts. Introduce Renishaw technologies to new and existing accounts. Develop and deliver customer presentations and product demonstrations. Establish sales targets, report progress, and achieve sales goals. Maintain a book of business using CRM and expand customer base within the territory. Perform other duties as assigned or required. Qualifications Minimum 5+ years of technical sales experience with a proven track record in selling technology and solutions to OEMs, distributors, and end‑users. Experience selling precision measurement equipment such as CNC Machine Tool, Gauging, CMM, Form & Finish, and Calibration products. Eligibility to use and access ITAR‑controlled data, with demonstrated compliance with U.S. export control laws. Preferred technical degree in CNC or CMM programming. Competencies & Skills Goal‑driven with resilience in the face of rejection. Persistence in exceeding key metrics and sales targets. Strong understanding of engineering principles and metrology. Ability to learn, understand, and explain technical aspects of products. Excellent communication skills – written and verbal – for all organizational levels. Relationship‑building skills with diverse personalities. Cold‑calling and educational outreach to new customers. Attention to detail, high organization, and follow‑up skills. Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Self‑motivation, results orientation, and time‑management/multitasking ability. Mechanical aptitude – working with machinery and motion systems. Compensation Annual base salary up to $150,000 (dependent on level and location). Final offer determined by candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location.
