Certified Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) – Correctional FacilityThe Certified Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing specialized assessment, treatment, and management of acute and chronic wounds within a correctional healthcare setting. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based wound care while collaborating with medical providers and nursing staff to promote optimal healing outcomes. The Wound Care RN serves as a clinical resource and educator, supporting staff in best practices and maintaining compliance with healthcare standards, infection control protocols, and facility policies.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform comprehensive wound assessments and develop individualized care plansProvide treatment for acute, chronic, and complex wounds, including pressure injuries, ulcers, and surgical woundsMonitor wound healing progress and adjust care plans as neededCollaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient careEnsure proper documentation of wound assessments, treatments, and outcomesEducate nursing staff on wound care best practices, prevention strategies, and treatment protocolsImplement and monitor infection control practices related to wound careParticipate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomesEnsure compliance with regulatory standards, policies, and proceduresMaintain inventory and proper use of wound care supplies and equipmentProvide patient education on wound care and prevention when applicableRespond to clinical concerns related to skin integrity and wound managementQualificationsActive and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific)Wound Care Certification (WCC, CWCN, or equivalent) required or ability to obtain within a specified timeframeMinimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with wound care experience preferredCurrent BLS/CPR certificationExperience in correctional healthcare, long-term care, or acute care preferredStrong knowledge of wound care protocols, infection control, and skin integrity managementExcellent clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skillsAbility to pass background check, drug screening, and security clearanceWork EnvironmentCorrectional facility settingRequires adherence to strict safety and security proceduresMay involve working with patients with complex medical and behavioral health needsTalantage, LLC is committed to presenting candidates that contribute to an organization’s culture of inclusivity and its commitment to diversity in the workplace are demonstrated through our recruitment practices.
