Work Environment

This position is based in a remote setting, allowing for a flexible work-life balance while still providing critical support to our clients. You will work closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care to clients at a Detox Center.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough, culturally sensitive mental health assessments to understand individual client histories and circumstances, ultimately leading to personalized treatment plans.
• Employ evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to meet the specific cultural and personal needs of clients, ensuring that their unique experiences inform your approach.
• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions aimed at addressing mental health concerns, promoting positive coping mechanisms, and fostering emotional resilience.
• Yield proactive crisis intervention skills during mental health emergencies, providing immediate support to clients in distress and coordinating with other professionals as necessary.
• Educate clients and their families on mental health conditions, available resources, and effective treatment options, empowering them to make informed decisions regarding their care.
• Maintain precise and confidential client documentation in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems as necessary.
• Participate in case conferences and team meetings to discuss client progress and treatment modifications, while also engaging in ongoing cultural competency training sessions.
• Stay current with relevant research, best practices, and cultural considerations in mental health, integrating that knowledge into therapy sessions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will directly impact individuals facing diverse challenges including, but not limited to, substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues. You will be part of a dedicated and compassionate team addressing the needs of clients from various backgrounds, creating tailored approaches that affirm and respect their identities.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited educational institution.
• Current licensure as an LMFT, LPC/MHSP, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Tennessee.
• In-depth knowledge of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment approaches, with a strong emphasis on cultural competence.
• Demonstrated experience in providing individual and group therapy in culturally responsive ways.
• Proficient crisis intervention skills, with the ability to maintain composure in complex situations.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling the creation of trust-based relationships with clients.
• Comfort with EHR systems and related technology to ensure smooth documentation practices.
• Commitment to upholding professional ethics, maintaining confidentiality, and following organizational policies.
• A collaborative spirit that thrives within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working in a detox or substance use treatment setting is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with diverse cultural frameworks and their influence on mental health perceptions and treatments.
• History of engaging in community mental health initiatives or programs aimed at increasing accessibility and awareness.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary in the range of USD 70,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to a strong salary package, you will benefit from:
