That's WEIS!Location Address: 7927 Bel Air Road Suite AESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:Promotes excellent customer relations by instilling positive customer focused behavior with associates. Smiles and greets customers, answers customer questions and helps resolve customer concerns promptly in a polite and professional manner. Focuses on continuous improvement in all areas of the department and makes changes to ensure progress.Takes customer orders over the phone or in person at the store with a pleasant and positive attitude. Determines what the customer is looking for in terms of size, flavor and appearance. Creates the finished decorated product in timely fashion.Decorates cakes and other bakery products using dye, specific designs or by creating custom designs. Uses variety of creams, frostings and fillings with consistent outcome. Makes icing for cakes and other related products. Adheres to company approved recipes.Manages department inventories by tracking weekly sales reports and orders products and supplies to meet customer demands, drive sales and company gross profit goals.Schedules all Bakery associates, oversees and participates in training, rewards and recognizes performance and delegates work assignments to effectively utilize talents and abilities while maximizing profits for the department. Participates in associate annual performance reviews and new hire interviews. Utilizes the Learning Management System (LMS) current and new associates.Develops and implements merchandising plans that meet financial goals. Knowledgeable on weekly ads and specials to ensure correct pricing and production amounts. Continuously improves knowledge of produced merchandise. Adheres to and enforces company policy of production logs. Monitors competitor activity concerning merchandising, pricing, quality, and comparison signage.Prepares, maintains and tracks records concerning inventories to calculate gross monthly profits according to company guidelines. Maintains associate department records and reports on all important matters including associate performance and discipline, sales, future plans, etc.Checks and verifies all department deliveries and invoices to ensure accurate billing. May help unload merchandise and transport to sales floor or storage area. Enforces and follows department practices regarding receiving, dating and restocking to ensure product rotation. Monitors product quality and freshness. Breaks down deliveries.Controls department expenses by improving operations and efficiencies, controls labor costs and reduces losses due to damages, spoiled product and shrink. Ensures associates correctly follow company recipes for prepared products. Maintains freshness by properly removing and recording out of code products. Completes required product logs.Keeps bakery department well stocked and appealing to meet customer demand. Smiles and greets customers, makes suggestions, answers questions about various products. Helps resolve customer concerns in a prompt and courteous manner.Ensures that merchandise is fresh, in saleable condition and properly priced with the correct signage. Handles spoiled and damaged product, or product that is close to expiration, according to company procedures and standards. Removes product that is not saleable to ensure quality.May assist with the production of breads, pastries and other baked goods to sell. Adheres to use of production logs and company approved recipes.Maintains backroom and receiving area security and organization by promoting 5S procedures. Responsible for general sanitation in the department. Follows cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure that work areas, equipment, counters, display cases, etc. are well maintained, clean and meet all health and OSHA requirements. Disposes of trash properly.Ensures smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors. Responsible to continuously improve job and department performance.Responsible for utilization of all company provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE). Including but not limited to cut resistant gloves, safety cutters, company sponsored footwear, etc.May also be called upon to assist in other departments.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESSupervises associates within the department. May assume total leadership of the building in absence of store management. Specific number of associates under supervision depends upon the store size and presence of store management.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully, the Associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without an accommodation. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Associate or bachelor's degree in business related or food service-related field desirable. Minimum (3) years' experience in management in retail/restaurant/supermarket environment.
