Project Controls Specialist

Project Controls Specialist – Boston, MA Arcadis is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to support our team in Boston. The role focuses on schedule development and cost estimating for bridge and/or transit infrastructure projects, ensuring robust project planning, monitoring, and control to deliver on time and on budget. Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project. Create look‑ahead schedules, baseline updates, and recovery plans. Perform critical path analysis, time‑impact analyses (TIA), and delay matrix analyses. Lead progress reporting, schedule variance analysis, and performance monitoring against baseline. Conduct quantity takeoffs, apply unit rates, and prepare cost estimates aligned with bridge/transit scope. Manage cost forecasts, budget vs. actuals, cash flow and Earned Value Management (EVM) analyses. Assist in bid preparation, develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), cost coding, and change order documentation. Align schedules and estimates across engineering, procurement, and construction teams; integrate multidisciplinary inputs. Facilitate communication and coordination—serving as a liaison among PMs, engineers, subcontractors, and clients. Support risk analysis, scenario planning, and cash flow forecasting. Maintain change control logs, schedule/control registers, and participate in claims or dispute resolution if needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Minimum 5–7 years of experience on bridge or transit infrastructure, heavy civil, or similar complex projects. Hands‑on experience with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project; other scheduling and estimating software experience is strongly preferred. Key Skills and Abilities Familiarity with estimating practices and software. Strong analytical mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
