Adjunct Assistant Professor - Nursing

LaGuardia Community College, a nationally recognized leader in student success and nursing education, invites applications for Adjunct Assistant Professor positions in the Nursing Department. We are seeking passionate, student-centered registered nurses who are eager to share their clinical expertise and help prepare the next generation of professional nurses. Adjunct faculty play a vital role in supporting our diverse student population through high-quality teaching in lecture, laboratory, and/or clinical settings. Responsibilities Supervise students in clinical settings, promoting safe and professional nursing practice; Teach assigned undergraduate nursing courses (lecture, laboratory, and/or clinical); Develop and deliver course materials aligned with program learning outcomes; Evaluate student performance using established assessment tools and grading standards; Maintain accurate academic and clinical documentation; Provide academic guidance and maintain availability for student support; Participate in course coordination and program assessment activities; Utilize the college’s learning management system and instructional technologies; Comply with college policies and clinical agency requirements. Qualifications Master’s degree in a nursing field from an accredited institution. Active, unrestricted New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Minimum of three (3) years of professional clinical nursing experience. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with students and faculty. Preferred Qualifications Prior college-level teaching experience in nursing (didactic, laboratory, clinical, and/or simulation). Experience in Medical-Surgical, Pediatric/Maternity, and Mental Health Nursing. Experience with student evaluation methods and clinical competency assessment. Experience with Simulation Technology. Familiarity with accreditation standards and nursing program outcomes assessment.
