Associate Chaplain- Flexi

Overview The Flexi (On‑Call) Associate Chaplain provides spiritual care throughout the hospital for patients, families, and staff. The role collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to facilitate comprehensive, holistic care of patients and families, documents care concerns and interventions, and offers expertise on cultural/faith diversity, advance care planning, major life transitions, end‑of‑life medical decision‑making, and grief processes. Responsibilities Respond to crises while on call and in‑house, delivering appropriate crisis intervention and referrals. Conduct rounds as scheduled to identify and respond to patient, family, and staff needs. Communicate effectively with healthcare team members regarding patient and family needs. Provide spiritual care throughout the hospital, including conducting religious or spiritual rites when requested. Refer ethical issues to the Ethics Consultant and ensure chaplaincy care is non‑judgmental, respectful of diversity, and respects patient rights. Assess and address staff needs for holistic support in a high‑stress environment. Document patient care concerns and interventions using eCare via the Spiritual Well‑Being goal or appropriate hospital format. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Religion & Theology (Required). Experience: Hospital experience is preferred. Clinical Pastoral Education: One unit of CPE is required.
