Clinical Support Manager

Description Department : Youth Prevention & Intervention Status : Regular, full-time, exempt Salary : $75,000 (License-eligible with ASW, IMW or APCC) – $100,000 (Licensed LCSW, LMFT or LPCC) Location : Youth Transition Campus (YTC) Schedule : Tuesday–Saturday: Start and end times may vary. Position requires flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including one to two evenings per week (up to 8:00 p.m.) and rotating weekends, as needed. Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Department Director, the Clinical Support Manager will serve Probation staff working in institutions at Youth Transition Campus (YTC) and East Mesa Juvenile Detention Facility (EMJDF), providing them support including individual & group consultation and linkage to community resources. The Clinical Support Manager will be a leader in the development and enhancement of a trauma‑informed environment and team, and will support clinicians working with youth on probation in custody and in the community with mental health and trauma informed services, bolstering positive youth development and reducing recidivism. Duties Provide development, support and services to Probation staff who work in institutions at the Youth Transition Campus (YTC) at 2801 Meadow Lark Dr., San Diego, CA 92123 and East Mesa Juvenile Detention Facility (EMJDF) at 446 Alta Rd, San Diego, CA 92158. Establish trusting, reliable, and respectful relationships with Probation officers and staff. Provide individual counseling, group support and consultation to staff as needed. Act as a resource to staff by maintaining comprehensive knowledge of their county benefits, including private insurance supports, and additional resources in their community. Proactively reach out to staff experiencing hardships, provide counseling, and link to County‑funded and community‑based services. Serve the staff in ways that comply with county procedures and regulations and maintain privacy and confidentiality. Plan and develop wellbeing and stress‑management activities that align with institutional schedule and respond to staff needs. Facilitate staff problem solving and service provision. Participate in individual and group clinical/reflective supervision. Attend Probation meetings, shift briefings, and administrative meetings as needed. Maintain data on contacts, programming, and referrals in ETO daily. Attend team, department, agency meetings, trainings and other committee meetings as assigned. Complete other duties assigned. Requirements Master's degree in social work, psychology, or related field with current BBS registration as LCSW, LMFT, LPCC or ASW, Associate LPCC or IMF. At least two (2) years’ experience working with staff at institutions and with at‑risk and diverse youth. Training in the assessment and treatment of substance use and mental health disorders. Experience preferred in community‑based organizations. Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with co‑occurring (dual diagnosis) disorders, with a strong foundation in trauma‑informed care practices. Flexibility and ability to respond to crisis situations. Ability to maintain a clear and focused outlook under pressure. Detail‑oriented and focused. Willingness to take on new challenges and develop new skills. Affinity for problem‑solving and critical thinking. Ability to work with a diverse population, possess cultural sensitivity, and maintain appropriate boundaries. Conditions of Employment Employment may be conditioned upon satisfactory completion of background clearances including DOJ criminal background check, National Sex Offender Public Website screening, drug test, TB test, and any additional clearances required by the program. Conditional offers require testing for controlled substances, including THC and CBD, in accordance with San Diego County policy and federal law. Candidate must have reliable transportation, a valid California driver’s license, and car insurance; a motor‑history check is required. Physical Demands Must work under deadlines and manage multiple tasks, dealing with clients in crisis. Standing, moving within a building, and handling objects up to 50 lbs. Ability to exert force to move objects and to use stairs or ladders as needed. Routine bending, stooping, and handling of office machinery. Clear communication skills for conveying information to clients and colleagues. Maintaining balance and body equilibrium to prevent falls.
