From our headquarters in Pilsen, Chicago, we strive to reverse climate change by focusing on the technical skills needed to increase building performance and accessibility. Together with our collaborative partners and communities we serve, we improve the efficiency of the built environment. About the Position We are looking for a full time Architecture and Sustainability Coordinator to join our team. HUSARCH is rooted in architecture, as such, we perform all aspects of traditional architects - just not always for the same project. While we have some small projects in office that we start and finish, we are most often fulfilling various roles as a subcontractor: initial assessment, field measuring, base drawings, drafting support through construction documents, QAQC, and various positions within construction administration. Within our small firm, there are still plenty of opportunities for exposure and participation beyond traditional architecture including detailed accessibility, facade analysis, R&D projects, general sustainability principles, and energy modeling. We do our best to align work for an individual's interests. The Architecture and Sustainability Coordinator is responsible for communicating directly with clients. They ensure there are proactive updates and fostering understanding between internal and external HUSARCH stakeholders. Key Role Responsibilities Conducts drafting and modeling for various project types and phases of construction documentation planning Coordinates drawing sets, details, and project specifications for multiple projects Evaluates zoning, building, accessibility, and energy code reviews without the use of AI Leverages AI for peer reviewed processes to analyze assessment data sets or improve internal processes Completes self-reviews of work quality Sustainability (30%): Interest in learning LEED Documentation standards and requirements to drive sustainable practices Understands with training, particular steps of energy modeling. Interest in building envelope information and its impact on architectural drawings. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s in Architecture, Master’s in Architecture, or similar Experience: 2-5+ years architectural experience, preference for large scale, civic and higher education projects Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong professional verbal and written communication skills. Clear and proactive communicator regarding delays or errors in deliverables. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Technical Software Skills: Expertise in AutoCad, Revit, and Adobe and willingness to learn new systems to drive results. Project Management Skills: Expertise working with digital systems and databases. Comfortable using project management software (Asana, Monday, Unanet, etc.). Highly organized and detail oriented; with demonstrated examples of meeting multiple deadlines across multiple projects. Adaptable when conditions, expectations, and deadlines change. Manages completeness of tasks while coordinating overall project schedules Certifications/Licensure: An active NCARB file with plans to obtain Architectural licensure is a plus. Professional Interests: Passion for sustainability and community-minded architecture.

POSITION STRUCTURE

Full-time position 40 hours per week with daily start and end times varying based on the scheduling of site visits Hybrid role - Chicago, IL or commutable distance to HUSARCH offices
