Make a meaningful difference in the lives of middle school students by lending your expertise as a School Psychologist on a contract basis for a maternity leave coverage this fall. This full-time, onsite role runs from October through December 2026 in a supportive educational environment near Elgin, IL. As a vital resource for students and staff, you’ll play a key part in fostering student growth and well-being during a transitional period.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Hold an active, valid Illinois School Psychologist license
- Recent experience supporting middle school children in an educational setting
- Strong skills in counseling, assessment, and special education compliance
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and families
- Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive environment for diverse learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group assessments of students’ emotional, behavioral, and academic needs
- Develop and implement evidence-based interventions and supports tailored to the middle school population
- Collaborate in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and attend relevant meetings
- Provide crisis intervention, short-term counseling, and mental health support as needed
- Consult with educators and families to recommend best practices and interventions
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with school and state policies
