Assistant Property Manager

About the Role Position: Assistant Property Manager Location: South Chicago Salud Center & Senior Housing, Chicago, IL South Chicago Salud Center & Senior Housing is part of POAH’s portfolio and is co-owned with Claretian Associates. The Assistant Property Manager reports to a Property Manager and supports day-to-day operations, maintenance programs, marketing and leasing activities, occupancy and annual tenant certifications, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. Responsibilities Assist in day-to-day property operations, maintenance programs, marketing and leasing activities, occupancy and annual tenant certifications. Ensure systems are aligned with HUD and state housing agency requirements. Assist in collecting rents, processing move-ins/move-outs in Yardi, and completing annual and interim certifications. Prepare and review contracts and ensure appropriate engineering specifications are incorporated for major repair work. Collaborate with property staff to maintain a safe, healthy, and compliant living environment for residents. Qualifications Previous experience with government-assisted and subsidized housing programs is required. Certified as a Tax Credit Specialist and/or Certified Occupancy Specialist preferred. Hands-on experience in day-to-day operations, maintenance, marketing and leasing, occupancy and tenant certifications. Strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills; computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; familiarity with Yardi is a plus. Ability to work collaboratively with residents, staff, and management to foster a harmonious environment. Flexibility, positive attitude, teamwork, and willingness to learn.
