We are R esponsive We have I ntegrity We are D ynamic We exhibit E xcellence PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides oversight and management of AM General’s comprehensive benefit programs and takes a leadership role in understanding the business, balancing needs of AM General and employees, and appropriately assessing risk Conducts analysis and oversee the design and development of plan changes as necessary to ensure competitive and cost-effective benefits plans Recommend benefits programs and/or benefit changes to management by studying current employee requirements, plan performance and benefit trends Manages vendor relationships and renewal processes to ensure benefit programs are cost-effective, compliant and meet service level agreements Evaluates services, coverage and options available through insurance companies to determine programs best meeting needs of AM General Partners closely with Corporate Finance to provide integrated health plan performance and budget reports Manage changes in plan designs or administration to ensure seamless migration of plans and programs from development state toimplementation Responds to and resolves escalated employee concerns regarding benefits programs Manages the open enrollment process by determining benefit changes and working with staff to develop and deliver communication pieces,manages the Open Enrollment data entry and data transfer, and troubleshooting any issues that arise along the way Participate in development, implementation and maintenance of benefit policies, objectives short-and long-range planning Manages the administration of retiree health care and pension benefits to include supporting and reviewing benefit calculations, compliance reporting and annual valuations Consults with and advises employees on eligibility provisions and other matters related to benefits Supports the HR Solution Center team members by providing subject matter expertise on benefit issues Manages the administration of AM Generals leave of absence programs to include disability leaves and FMLA and COBRA Manage vendor relationships including conducting vendor analysis and negotiations as well as managing the vendor RFP process Develop and disseminate various benefits-related communication to ensure participants are knowledgeable and current on a variety of benefit topics Support and assist during labor negotiation as it relates to costing, evaluating and supporting company proposals on benefit items Experience administering multi-plan benefits environments. Experience managing benefits programs governed by collective agreements and negotiated benefit provisions. Ensure all plans and reporting are compliant with various state and federal laws such as ERISA, PBGC, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, and HIPAA Ensure insurance carriers, trustees, and other administrative agencies outside the company effectively implement changes in benefit program Administer the HRIS systems and ensure timeliness and accuracy of the data Conduct benefit training with employees Other relevant duties that may be assigned KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources or related field preferred Five years or more years of experience in benefit administration with prior experience with defined benefit plans preferred Ability to manage time and tasks effectively and to work both independently and in a team environment including cross functional IPT’s Excellent communication skills and high level of initiative Advanced level proficiency of Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) Ability to run, create, analyze and manage data with the goal of making recommendations Working knowledge of applicable regulations such as ERISA, FMLA, ACA and COBRA PHYSICAL EFFORT Sight: must be able to regularly read computer screen, reports, and various documents with detail and clarity to accomplish work tasks in a safe and efficient manner, including regular use of adequate close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus Hearing: must be able to regularly hear well enough to communicate WORKING CONDITIONS Physical Location: This position operates between an office and manufacturing plant environment and is often assigned to a specific shift or hours. The Employee must be able to perform job functions in an environment with varying difficult work conditions such as extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, at heights, and/or while exposed to constant/intermittent loud noises Teamwork: This position will work with others to ensure efficiency in the workplace Listening Skills: This position will need to understand how to use machinery properly and safely to prevent accidents and ensure all tasks are completed accurately Ability to follow instructions: Managers assign tasks and responsibilities, which vary; this position should be able to follow instructions competently Methodical approach: Production lines follow a set process, so this position needs a methodical approach to ensure all tasks are completed in the correct order for a smooth-running production line Concentration: This position may perform the same or similar tasks repeatedly, so a strong level of concentration when carrying out these tasks is important for quality control purposes.
