The selected candidate will work onsite in our state-of-the-art outpatient facility located in the picturesque town of Blacksburg, Virginia. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients, developing individualized treatment plans based on physician referrals to address specific impairments and functional limitations.
• Implement therapeutic interventions and regularly assess their effectiveness, continuously adjusting care strategies to meet the evolving needs of patients.
• Maintain meticulous records of patient treatments, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring compliance with legal and professional standards.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists, to enhance the holistic care experience for each patient.
• Supervise and provide guidance to Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) and support personnel, facilitating effective teamwork and optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, self-management strategies, and preventive measures for long-term health.
• Participate in continuous education programs and departmental meetings to foster professional development and keep abreast of evolving practices in physical therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physical Therapist will work primarily with outpatient clients, which includes individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions. Our patient demographic is diverse, spanning all ages and varying levels of physical ability. The ideal candidate will be experienced in tailoring their approach to meet the unique needs of each patient, contributing to functional improvement and overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Current Physical Therapist licensure in the State of Virginia.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
• Proficiency in documentation and electronic health record (EHR) systems, along with strong word processing capabilities.

Preferred Experience

• At least two years of experience working in a physical therapy setting, with a strong emphasis on outpatient care.
• An understanding of various rehabilitation technologies and techniques, and familiarity with patient-centered therapy methodologies.

Compensation and Benefits
