Associate Director of Development, Gabelli School of Business Fordham University is a Jesuit university located in New York State. The Gabelli School of Business seeks an Associate Director of Development to strengthen philanthropic support for the business school. The incumbent reports to the Executive Director of Development and Alumni Engagement and plays an integral role in building the business school’s major gift prospect pipeline. Responsibilities Serve as one of the lead fundraising officers for the Gabelli School Development Team, providing strategic guidance on leadership annual giving and major giving fundraising. Manage a portfolio of approximately 150 prospects. Devises individual engagement strategies for each prospect in the pool to solicit annual gifts and/or multi-year gift commitments of $25,000+, with specific solicitation goals set during an annual goal‑setting process. Assist with various projects, including stewardship efforts, volunteer opportunities, and campaign initiatives as needed. Represent the Business School at on‑ and off‑campus events, support special fundraising initiatives, and contribute to the overall goals of the Development and University Relations office. Develop strong relationships with Gabelli School faculty, administrators, and staff to identify and promote giving opportunities that support the business school’s strategic priorities. Participate in University, Development, and Gabelli School activities and events, including dinners, receptions, and alumni campus visits as assigned. Management Responsibilities Not responsible for supervision or oversight of others. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Minimum of 4 years of experience in fundraising, business, sales, or a related industry. Demonstrated successful track record of solicitation or sales efforts, advancing donors or customers through the pipeline. Strong communication skills, high attention to detail, excellent organizational and project management skills. Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion when handling confidential information. Ability to confidently and comfortably engage with and solicit diverse constituencies. Expertise with Google Workspace and proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiar with relational databases (CRMs). Preferred Qualifications Experience in frontline fundraising and development in higher education. Understanding of donor engagement strategies in all phases of development: qualification, cultivation, solicitation, close, and stewardship. Experience with Ellucian Advance CRM, SAP Concur, and Zoom. Salary Minimum starting salary: $93,000. Maximum starting salary: $95,000. Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
