Department Overview Our neonatal program is the largest in the Midwest, providing the full scope of care for infants needing intensive care in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Children’s Minnesota Minneapolis Campus. Our interdisciplinary team of over 500 professionals is dedicated to caring for babies with life-changing diagnoses, including level III and IV care, premature births, birth defects, congenital heart disease, genetic disorders, medical disorders, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), body cooling, and surgery. We also support a step-down level II infant care center and special care nursery, and we are part of the Mother Baby Center at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, which includes a high‑risk delivery service, fetal surgery program, and perinatal clinic. Our team balances highly technical skill with a family‑centered approach, promoting learning, professional growth, and respectful communication. Position Summary Coordinates and provides family‑centered nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents, utilizing the nursing process. Accountable for professional practice including independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions performed in collaboration with other health team members.

THIS IS AN MNA CONTRACT POSITION.

Education Requirements Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current Minnesota RN licensure. Current BLS certification. One (1) year nursing experience in a hospital setting. Neonatal experience preferred. Based upon the unit in which you are applying, additional certification(s) may be required. Department specific required qualifications need to be obtained within 6 months of employment. Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required or obtained during orientation. Physical Demands Physical demands for this position include standing, walking, lifting, and other tasks consistent with nursing care of infants and children. Specific requirements may differ by unit. Salary and Benefits In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on‑call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
