Job Title

Travel RN – Emergency Room (Night Shift)

Location

Hopewell, VA | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Every other weekend required, with at least 1 Friday and 1 Monday per 4-week schedule | No on-call required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 22-bed Emergency Room with a 1:4 patient ratio during night shift
• Perform and assist with procedures including cardioversion, central line placements, cardiac arrests, IV insertions, EKGs, pacemaker interrogation, Code Stroke, and Code Sepsis protocols
• Demonstrate strong IV skills with both adult and pediatric patients
• Utilize Meditech (EDM) electronic medical records system for documentation
• Operate unit equipment including Philips and GE monitors and Level 1 Rapid Infuser
• May be required to float to a freestanding emergency department approximately 15 minutes from the primary location

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI certifications required
• Strong IV skills with adult and pediatric populations
• Excellent communication skills

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Trauma experience and/or TNCC certification
• Prior experience with Meditech EMR
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment and hold self and others accountable
