New employees must provide a valid Utah residential address within 30 days of their start date.Job SummaryThe Recruiter supports institution-wide hiring efforts for Salt Lake Community College by managing full-cycle recruitment for a diverse portfolio of roles—including staff, skilled trades, administrative positions, and faculty. This position partners closely with hiring managers, provides training for NeoEd Hiring Manager users, delivers onboarding presentations, and ensures compliance with employment documentation and institutional hiring practices. The Recruiter plays a key role in effective recruitment, hiring, and onboarding strategies that support SLCC's mission and commitment to student success.Essential Duties & Responsibilities & Knowledge Skills & AbilitiesRecruitment & Hiring SupportPartner with assigned divisions to review staffing needs, refine job descriptions, and ensure alignment with organizational structure.Manage end-to-end recruitment for faculty and staff positions, including job posting, sourcing, screening, interviewing coordination, and communication with candidates.Provide clear guidance to hiring managers and administrative assistants on job description edits and required hiring documentation.Collaborate with hiring managers to develop job postings, screening criteria, interview questions, and hiring timelines.Conduct targeted sourcing through job boards, community outreach, SLCC job fairs, industry events, and referral networks.Maintain strong working relationships with internal partners to support a consistent and positive hiring experience.Compliance, Systems & Process ManagementTrain and support Hiring Managers on NeoEd workflows and best practices across all campus locations.Coordinate with Compensation to provide complete, accurate job descriptions for market and equity review prior to posting.Collaborate with Staff Development and other HR units to ensure smooth new-hire transitions and onboarding processes.Maintain up-to-date recruitment materials, onboarding content, hiring guides, and training resources.Onboarding & Training Facilitate new employee orientation sessions and contribute to the ongoing development and evaluation of onboarding programs.Lead recruitment or hiring-related training for departments, including Hiring Manager training in NeoEd and recruitment best practices.Provide hiring projections to Staff Development to support workforce planning and Bruin Beginnings preparation.Sourcing & Outreach Develop marketing and recruitment strategies in partnership with assigned divisions to promote open positions.Represent SLCC at job fairs, career events, and community partnerships to expand the candidate pipeline.Utilize job boards such as HigherEdJobs, Handshake, and industry-specific platforms to attract high-quality applicants.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesExcellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to build effective relationships.Support onboarding accurate and timely collection, verification, and documentation of employment eligibility (I-9) and other required hiring forms.Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and supporting a diverse workforce.Skilled in strategic sourcing, social media outreach, and community engagement.Ability to maintain confidentiality, use sound judgment, and apply HR best practices.Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure process accuracy and complianceMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree1 year of experience in human resources or related fieldEducation and work experience may be substituted one-to-one.Preferred QualificationsExperience in recruitment, admissions, student services, or HR—preferably in a higher education environment. Strong presentation and communication skills, with experience conducting group trainings or onboarding sessions. Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain organization in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of I-9 regulations and employment eligibility requirements. Working knowledge of applicant tracking systems and onboarding platforms. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Banner, Experience with NeoEd, HRIS systems, or other ATS/onboarding platforms. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools including Teams, Bookings, and Copilot. Experience recruiting across varied job families including trades, staff, academic, and student positions. Demonstrated success improving recruitment processes, documentation, or onboarding workflows.
