Our client is a well-established mid-sized Orange County law firm with more than four decades of serving businesses, property owners, developers, entrepreneurs, and closely held companies throughout California. The firm has built a reputation for providing sophisticated legal counsel while maintaining the collaborative culture and client service of a boutique practice. Its core practice areas include business litigation, commercial real estate, construction, employment, trust and estate disputes, and corporate transactions. As the firm continues to grow, it is seeking an accomplished Business & Real Estate Litigation Attorney to expand and complement its existing litigation practice.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced attorney with approximately 10+ years of business and real estate litigation experience and a portable book of business of at least $500,000. The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial attorney who enjoys developing client relationships, handling sophisticated commercial disputes, and contributing to the continued growth of a collaborative, highly respected firm.

Responsibilities

• Manage a sophisticated caseload of business and commercial real estate litigation matters from inception through trial.
• Maintain and continue growing an established portable book of business of $500,000+.
• Develop new business opportunities through client relationships, networking, and referrals.
• Handle all phases of litigation, including:
• Pleadings
• Discovery
• Depositions
• Motion practice
• Mediations
• Arbitrations
• Trial preparation and trial
• Advise business owners, developers, investors, landlords, and commercial clients on complex legal disputes.
• Collaborate with attorneys across complementary practice areas to provide comprehensive client service.
• Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to the firm's collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active member of the California State Bar in good standing.
• Approximately 10+ years of business and/or commercial real estate litigation experience.
• Portable book of business of at least $500,000.
• Demonstrated success handling complex commercial litigation matters.
• Strong courtroom, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
• Excellent client relationship and business development abilities.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to grow a long-term practice.

• Business torts and fraud claims
• Fiduciary duty litigation
• Construction-related disputes
