Senior Lead AI Software Engineer

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We expect formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus 5+ years of applied experience.
• We need hands-on experience delivering data-intensive system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• We require advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, specifically Java.
• We look for experience building core platform capabilities such as data ingestion pipelines, dependency analysis services, and developer-facing products.
• We value demonstrated experience leading the effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for coding, code review, test acceleration, and troubleshooting, with the ability to set expectations for validating AI output for correctness, performance, and security.
• We need a strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security expectations, along with experience coaching senior engineers and leads on compliant usage patterns and controls.
• We expect the ability to solve design and functionality problems independently with minimal oversight.
• We require practical cloud-native experience with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, and RDS, or similar technologies.
• Preferred: experience with greenfield architecture.
• Preferred: experience delivering AI/ML solutions in financial services, capital markets, or operations-focused environments.
• Preferred: experience working in highly regulated environments with strong model risk, governance, or control expectations.
• Preferred: experience designing scalable system architectures for AI products and platforms across multiple stakeholder groups.

• We own the work end-to-end, from design through deployment and production support.
• We build and scale core platform capabilities, including data ingestion pipelines, dependency analysis services, and developer-facing product features.
• We provide technical guidance and direction to support our business, technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
• We write production-quality Java on AWS, including services, APIs, data pipelines, and the infrastructure that connects them.
• We use AI and agentic development tools to develop secure, high-quality production code, and we review and debug code written by others.
• We drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, while establishing measurable validation standards and encouraging reuse of proven patterns and automation within the SDLC/TLM toolchain.
• We apply knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle toolchain tools, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation at scale.
• We drive decisions that shape product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes.
• We serve as a subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus.
• We contribute actively to the engineering community as advocates for firmwide Software Development Life Cycle frameworks, tools, and practices.
• We collaborate closely with engineers, product managers in the US and UK, and designers to ship features that engineering teams rely on.
