Assignment Details Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 07/13/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Hours per Week: 36 hours Shift: 12‑hour days Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Days, 3×12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Jul 13, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Unit Description Hospital: 457‑bed, Level III Trauma academic teaching hospital also designated Chest Pain Center, Stroke Center of Excellence, and Bariatric Center of Excellence Unit: 28‑bed Post‑Surgical Care unit serving orthopedic, spine, vascular, and trauma cases, plus medical overflow Patient ratio: 1:4–6 (surge up to 1:7–8) Remote telemetry monitoring EMR: Epic (experience required) Equipment: BD Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Philips and Masimo monitors Shift: 12‑hour days 07:00–19:00, 36 hrs/wk Every other weekend rotation required Floating within Region 1 (Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division facilities including CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH) – requires flexibility No on‑call requirements Requirements Active NC or compact RN license Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications Minimum 18 months Med/Tele RN experience, with most recent experience within the last year Proficiency in general post‑surgical skills: incision care, patient assessment, drain and chest tube management, wound care/wound vacs, trach care, NG tube insertion, mobility assistance, and use of braces/traction Candidate must reside at least 50 miles from the facility – local candidates not accepted One professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration Additional Information Provide post‑surgical nursing care to diverse patient population Unit support includes CNAs, charge nurse, IV/VAT team, mentor, RT 24/7, Hospitalist 24/7, House Supervisor, Behavioral Response Team (BERT), and Rapid Response/Code Team Orientation: facility‑level NEO and 2 days departmental orientation Travelers expected to work 75% of assigned holidays Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays; if contracted hours cannot be met, time added to end of contract Schedule runs on a 6‑week cycle Scrubs: Navy Free parking in designated areas Positive supportive unit culture Former AHSE employees must have been separated from a permanent position for at least 1 year First‑time travelers considered, though not preferred Compensation & Benefits Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
