Senior Accountant - Part Time

Community Living, Inc. is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team! If you have a strong background in general ledger accounting and are looking for an opportunity to use your accounting expertise to support a nonprofit organization, this could be a great fit.

As Senior Accountant, you’ll play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the organization’s financial reporting and accounting functions. You’ll work closely with the finance team on reconciliations, month-end and year-end closing, financial reporting, audits, and other accounting activities.

Schedule: Monday-Friday daytime hours, hours may vary
Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Pay Rate: $35/hour

What You’ll Do

• Perform all cash reconciliations and reconcile balance sheet accounts
• Prepare monthly journal entries and assist with monthly closing procedures
• Complete allocations and other general ledger accounting functions
• Monitor residential participant funds and serve as a liaison with the Social Security Administration
• Prepare quarterly and annual reports for outside funders
• Assist with audit preparation and completion of the Unit Cost Report
• Provide accounting support and assistance to other members of the finance team
• Maintain required training and documentation
• Assist with process improvements and other accounting projects as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• At least 5 years of general ledger accounting experience required
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a logical, systematic, and organized manner
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products
• Ability to manage time, priorities, and multiple responsibilities effectively
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to build positive working relationships with staff at all levels of the organization
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with tact and professionalism
• Fund accounting software experience is preferred
• Nonprofit accounting experience is preferred
