This role is dedicated to developing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs that support the continuous professional growth of emergency department staff.

As the Emergency Department RN Educator, you will ensure that nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals maintain their competencies in emergency care, adhere to regulatory standards, and stay current with best practices, new technologies, and evidence-based treatments.

Responsibilities include:

• Creating and delivering comprehensive orientation programs for emergency department personnel, including nurses, technicians, coordinators, and agency staff.
• Leading ongoing training sessions covering emergency protocols, clinical procedures, and the use of new medical equipment.
• Facilitating certification and continuing education programs such as ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, BLS, and MANDT.
• Organizing simulation-based training and drills for critical care scenarios in partnership with simulation coordinators.
• Assessing clinical competencies through direct observation and skill validation, providing personalized coaching as needed.
• Assisting in developing and implementing protocols for trauma, stroke, cardiac, and sepsis care.
• Staying informed on the latest advancements in emergency medicine to keep the department at the forefront of care.
• Collaborating with emergency department leadership on quality improvement and workflow optimization to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
• Serving as a clinical resource, offering guidance on challenges and evidence-based practices.
• Participating actively in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.

Education: Registered Nurse (RN) license required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in emergency nursing is essential. Prior experience in nursing education, staff development, or clinical instruction is highly desirable.

Licensure/Certification: Current RN license in the practicing state. Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, and NIHSS. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) credential is a plus.

Mental and Physical Requirements: This role demands significant mental focus and physical activity, including lifting up to 35 lbs., standing, walking, and various movements such as stooping and reaching.

Working Conditions: Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases is expected. Occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur. The position mirrors typical RN working conditions.

Schedule: Monday through Friday with potential for flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, depending on training needs.
