RN - Emergency Department | BLS Certified

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Midwest region as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, providing critical and compassionate care to patients in urgent need. This role involves direct patient care using the nursing process, demonstrating clinical expertise, and adhering to professional nursing ethics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to ensure a secure care environment.
• Maintain and care for central lines and prevent surgical site infections following policy guidelines.
• Deliver high-quality nursing care including medication administration, nursing interventions, and patient and family education.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance quality, and support clinical decision-making.
• Document all patient care activities and quality monitoring to comply with standards and improve outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare team members to optimize patient care.
• Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability.
• Engage with patients and families to enhance their experience and provide education supporting health outcomes.
• Apply critical thinking in nursing practice and pursue continuing education to develop skills.

Education

Graduation from an accredited nursing school is required.

Experience

At least one year of nursing experience is preferred.

Requirements

• Current RN license valid in the state or through Compact Licensure; graduate nurses must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Mental and Physical Demands

This position requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs., standing, walking, and various movements such as pushing, pulling, and reaching.

Working Conditions

Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases through blood and bodily fluids is expected. Occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur.
